Wednesday saw the conclusion of the 33rd edition of SPORTELl Monaco. With over 2000 attendees representing over 800 companies, SPORTEL continues to be the benchmark for the Global Sport Business Industry.

On Day 1 of the 3 day conference, Quidich Innovation Labs’ Co-Founder, Gaurav Mehta, was invited to a Panel Discussion on the topic, “India : A Major Global Market for Sports Media & A Tech Driver in our Industry.” For the Panel Discussion, Gaurav was accompanied by Aarti Dabas from Formula E, Anil Jayaraj from Viacom 18, and Sunil Manoharan from ICC while the discussion was moderated by Imran Yusuf from Sportbusiness.

Talking about the biggest takeaway from the discussion, Gaurav said, ‘Global leagues that are looking to enter India should learn from existing leagues, broadcasters in India and how they’ve gone about growth, and hence build a specific India strategy to enter the market. While the reward is high in building sticky engagement products for the Indian sport audience, it needs a very specific understanding of how fan engagement here works.’
