The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 was a celebration of talent, teamwork, and the growing power of women’s sport in India and globally. Across packed stadiums, fans witnessed unforgettable performances, thrilling finishes, and a level of intensity that showcased how far women’s cricket has come. Every match told a new story of determination, belief, and a collective dream that kept the nation glued to their screens. And then, when the final ball was bowled, history was made. India lifted their maiden Women’s World Cup trophy, a moment that will be etched in cricketing memory forever. This journey wasn’t just about winning a title; it was about inspiring a generation and redefining what victory looks like for Indian cricket.

While the players shone under the spotlight, a team of unsung heroes worked tirelessly behind the scenes. They played a key role in bringing this spectacle to life by ensuring every emotion, every shot, and every story reached millions of fans across the globe.

The Real Orchestrator

Every live match you watch, every replay, angle, and slow-motion moment, comes together under the watchful eye of one of the true unsung heroes of this World Cup, the broadcast director. The director is the conductor of the entire production, deciding which camera goes live, what story unfolds next, and how millions of viewers experience the game in real time.

It’s not an easy job. In a single over, the director might juggle between more than a dozen camera feeds, graphics, replays, and data overlays, all while keeping up with the unpredictable pace of cricket. The director is always chasing new ways to tell the story of the game, experimenting with fresh camera angles, innovative visuals, and technologies that keep fans closer to the action.

That’s where Quidich comes in. Our technology gives directors more storytelling tools,  from live tracking data to dynamic camera systems, helping them craft a richer, more connected broadcast experience.

Quidich’s On-Field Excellence

While the director orchestrates the broadcast from the control room, the real magic unfolds on the ground. This year’s Women’s World Cup saw the successful deployment of Quidich’s full suite of technologies, with the Quidich Tracker providing the viewers with a field plot graphic on the bottom left of the screen, showing live field positions of all players in the field of play, HyperView providing dynamic 3D visual representations of pivotal moments, along with our BuggyQam deliver dynamic low angle shot and CopterQam providing a bird’s eye view of the game.

But the heroes of this story are the operators, the people who make sure every piece of technology runs seamlessly on the field. They’re the ones up before dawn, setting up systems, troubleshooting networks, syncing data feeds, and ensuring that when the director calls for a shot, it’s ready to go live without a hitch.

Innovations in the tournament

One of the crew’s biggest challenges, and ultimately their proudest achievement, was the ‘Make in India’ drone project, a milestone that’s still evolving. During the tournament, Quidich successfully addressed what had long been considered a decade-old technical hurdle: developing India’s first broadcast-grade camera payload for a drone.

Every day presented a new obstacle, from tuning the stabilisation to refining image transmission, but overcoming them to deliver world-class broadcast quality was a defining accomplishment. The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 thus became the stage for the first-ever deployment of our 'Make in India' broadcast drone technology.

Our operators also took charge of the Google Pixel 10 Pro Buggy, capturing dynamic ground-level footage that brought viewers closer to the emotion of the game.

Imagine manoeuvring a camera buggy across the field moments before a global broadcast, surrounded by players, match officials, and live production chaos; that’s what our operators do, match after match.

Hear it directly from one of the heroes

“Working at the Women's World Cup 2025 was truly special and historic. Every day came with new challenges, unpredictable weather, last-minute changes, and the pressure to get that perfect shot, but that’s what makes it so rewarding. As an avid follower of ICC tournaments, witnessing so many incredible matches was amazing, but the highlight for me was when The Indian Women lifted the World Cup and the fireworks lit up the sky, a moment that will stay etched in my memory for a lifetime.”

The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 was a story of passion, precision, and teamwork,  both on and off the field. While India lifted their first-ever World Cup trophy, Quidich celebrated a different kind of victory: pushing the boundaries of sports storytelling, one frame, one feed, and one incredible team at a time.
